Calas de Majorca Attractions

The nearby town of Manacor is the home of the Majorca Pearl industry. Visitors are invited to watch the manufacturing process and afterwards visit the factory shop.

The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 1pm, and again on a Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm.

The Exotic Parque Los Pajaros is just outside the resort. The main feature here being the acrobatic parrots! There are also flamingos and a children's zoo.

It is open every day from 10am to 7pm.

The Tropical Park Jumaica is on the road from Porto Cristo to Porto Colom, it offers lush tropical gardens where visitors can discover rare plants, trees, and bamboo groves and a varied selection of exotic birds.

The gardens are open in the summer from 9am to 6pm, and in the winter months from 10am to 4.30pm.

The Sunday morning market at the nearby town of Felanitx is recognised as being one of the best in Majorca and is well worth a visit.

 

Glass Bottom Boats

Glass bottom boats make regular trips along the delightful east coast.

On most trips the boat will usually stop for about 30 minutes giving you the chance to cool off in the sea.

If you've hired a car and wish to explore the east coast of Majorca there are a number of other attractions worth a visit.

The Caves of Hams are famous for their their wonderful underground lake and unusual rock formations. They are located 2 km West of Porto Cristo.

Opening times from March to October is 10am to 6pm and from November to February 10:30am to 5:30pm. Entrance fee for adults is around £7.00. Full contact details are:

The famous Caves of Drach open daily from April to October from 10am to 5pm, and from November to March 10:45am to 12:00 and 2pm to 3:30pm. Admission for adults is around £7.
